{"id":1186,"date":"2024-07-24T20:50:18","date_gmt":"2024-07-24T19:50:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chalphycastle.ie\/projects\/?p=1186"},"modified":"2024-07-24T20:50:18","modified_gmt":"2024-07-24T19:50:18","slug":"itadaki-street-ds-menu-patch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chalphycastle.ie\/projects\/itadaki-street-ds-menu-patch\/","title":{"rendered":"Itadaki Street DS menu patch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a while since I made an actual post here. <a href=\"https:\/\/chalphycastle.ie\/projects\/competition-to-edit-levels-interestingly-creatively-and-amazingly-celica\/\">CELICA<\/a> has come and gone (congratulations to <a href=\"https:\/\/chalphycastle.ie\/projects\/competition-to-edit-levels-interestingly-creatively-and-amazingly-celica\/calculation-manipulation\/\">Calculation Manipulation<\/a> by Aura Wolf), I made my annual April Fool&#8217;s Day hack (<a href=\"https:\/\/chalphycastle.ie\/projects\/champions-revolt\/\">Champion&#8217;s Revolt<\/a> &#8211; yes, I read all of Hasha for research purposes), and it&#8217;s FEE3 preperation season. The only problem is I&#8217;ve a bit of writer&#8217;s block, so I needed to do something else for a bit instead of re-reading the War of Lovers plot synopsis for the hundreth time. I got a cold, played through Dragon Warrior 3, booted up my Boom Street disc, got curious if there was a translation for the untranslated DS predecessor, found there wasn&#8217;t, and then disappeared down a rabbit hole for about a week or so.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1178\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1178\" style=\"width: 256px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1178 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/chalphycastle.ie\/projects\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/title.png?resize=256%2C192&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Itadaki Street title screen\" width=\"256\" height=\"192\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1178\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Okay, there&#8217;s no translated title screen.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>So now I&#8217;ve made a fairly playable menu patch, doing about all I can do alone. If I knew Japanese, I&#8217;d identify the kanji and dump all of the text. But I don&#8217;t, and I&#8217;ve largely hit the limit of referring to Gamefaqs guides and referring to the Wii game. And a text dump without the kanji is a fairly useless text dump by all accounts. No point sitting on an unfinished thing, so have a release. <a href=\"https:\/\/chalphycastle.ie\/projects\/itadaki-street-ds\/\">Click here for the game page.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Maybe I&#8217;ll post something on this page before FEE3.
