It’s Minesweeper. Minesweeper to a T. Press A to left-click, press B to right-click. About the only improvement that could be made is the double-click to clear all the tiles.

… It’s an excuse plot that has the beginnings of FE8 laid into it. It’s adorable.
But also not really…present. I laughed pretty hard.

made me worry the game was broken.
the story made me laugh i’m wheezing.
so; I play minesweeper. *All the time*. I don’t play like five maps a day, but I’ve definitely played a few thousand boards. It is not a very interesting game at that point.
And i feel bad about this. it’s lovingly made and just about perfect, but it’s minesweeper and minesweeper is just a game that intrinsically sucks: it’s either “follow exact formula” or “you can randomly lose by doing the right thing” and i already play minesweeper most days because it only takes 2-3 minutes for me to play a board which scratches that `satisfied with having done a thing` urge despite not taking that long. the perfect thing to do when, say, waiting for your food to heat up, the oven to pre-heat, or while someone’s in the bathroom; but _is it a fun and good game_ is…
well it’s certainly more strategic than some hacks i’ve played before.
The ever classic minesweeper trouble is “your first press is a bomb”, which I submit never happened in this entry (i did restart many new boards to see if it would).

It’s minesweeper, and I like minesweeper. Two points deducted for seemingly having the same board every time which makes it very easy.
Presentation: 4/5
Absolutely nailed the minesweeper look, the music was great, and the custom title and nintendo graphics were cool. One point deducted for only using vanilla portraits.
Story: 3/5
It was pretty fun and goofy but it obviously recycled from vanilla’s prologue story.
